We boast many attractions in the Copper River Basin and are proud to work with the local communities to offer you the greatest wilderness experience while you are in our area.
In our back yard is the Wrangell-St.Elias National Park and Preserve, the largest park and preserve in North America. The National Park Service also has its headquarters and visitor's center close by. From the entrance to our campground on the Glenn Highway is a beautiful view of Mt. Drum.
We have the State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game field office located in Glennallen. You can pick up your State hunting and fishing licenses there. As well as hear the latest "fish story."
The Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a field office here as well. At the BLM you can learn bout the Federal lands as well as obtain federal hunting/fishing licenses.
The Copper River Visitors Center is located at the junction of the Richardson and Glenn Highways; near the Hub of Alaska Fuel Station/Gift Shop.
Within the community of Glennallen, We have a supermarket with a modern deli that serves specialitysandwiches and a butcher shop which caters to special cuts; 3 fuel stations, laundro-mat, beauty shop, restaurants, dentist, carwash, chiropractor, Espresso Coffee Shop, 2 banks, Christian radio station, hotel, and several churches.
And Cross Roads Medical Center that is open 24 hours for Emergency Medical Services.
We are within an easy drive of the Copper River, Chitna, Klutina, Gulkana, Gakona and many other fishing rivers and streams. We are approximately two hours from Valdez where you can charter for halibut and salmon fishing or fish from the shoreline.
Many of our guests will day trip south to Valdez and Chitina and McCarthy and shuttle or hike to the Kennecott Copper Mine. Truly a memorable experience.
Since our opening Twenty years ago we have continuously operated a clean facility with regular upgrades. We are adding log cabin guest cottages with electric and bathroom facilities.
From June 15 thru August 15 we have Dessert Night every Monday and Friday @ 7:30 pm. We personally invite you to join us as we sit around the campfire and visit with our guests and neighbors.
